What Sparked you to be an artist?
My earliest inspiration was a personal computer with early animation software on it. Programs like 3D Movie Maker opened my eyes to using tools for storytelling. Alongside flip- books that showed me how frame by frame animation worked, I slowly started to learn how to create digital content.
What was the first art piece you’ve sold?
The first piece of art I sold was made for a group show in art school, it was a stick figure in his underwear scratching his head, and the president of the University Of The Arts came to the show with his wife, and when she saw it, she was like "how much". That was the start of me realizing there was a market for my weird art.
What was the first art piece you’ve sold?
My genesis SuperRare piece "Explode" means a lot to me because it signified a transition in my career and style, it was me setting up a blueprint for how I would make art for years to come.
How would you describe your experience working on the clock?
This is the first big, physical piece I've made!!
I wanted to tell my story as an artist through the panels on the physical clock. I treated each box like an animated storyboard to represent my career in animation.
You can see references to my art, the states I’ve lived in, the television shows I’ve worked on - it tells the story of my career over time.
You can also see references to NIFTY Gateway, and how I transitioned into digital. I've built my own story into the clock. I love the combination of physical device and imagery that tie together to talk about this life journey of work we can all relate to.
